The objective of Outreach Service is to provide access to library services for people in the community whose use of the library is marginalised.

Homebased Services
Homebased Service is a free service within the Gisborne City for people who have difficuty getting in to the library for any reason.
Signing up a Homebased member
To sign up to the homebased service, you first must be a registered library borrower then you will need to request and complete a homebased membership registration form via our email or phone (06) 867 6709.
Once it has been returned you will need to wait for your letter of confirmation to confirm your volunteer and date of delivery as we deliver on specific weeks.
Resthome Services
As part of our Homebased Outreach services we also deliver to four different rest homes/lifestyle villages Leighton House & Dunblane Lifecare on the first Wednesday of the month, then Kiri Te Kanawa Retirement Village & Beetham Lifestyle Village on the third Wednesday of the month.
Rural Libraries
We deliver to our rural libraries : Matawai, Motu, & Tokomaru Bay every 6 months - these books are all held in the local schools’ libraries.
