Suggest a Book or eBook to buy

This is a suggestion for the library to buy a book that is not held in our collection or on order - check our catalogue if you are unsure

Before you fill out the suggestion to buy form below, please note the following:

• Suggestions from HB Williams Memorial Library members are welcome - please include your Borrower number.
• You may request up to twelve purchases per year for our Collections team to consider. Not all items are suitable, so please read through our criteria to avoid disappointment:

The following items generally fall outside our selection criteria:

• Titles published more than two years ago or having a publication date of more than six months ahead.
• Titles that are in an unsuitable format for public libraries.
• Titles that cannot be sourced through our usual suppliers.
• Very specialised publications that are not suitable for a public library.
• Titles with a subject matter that is already well represented in our collection.
• If the title has already been removed from our collection due to lack of use.

What happens next?

If we decide to purchase the item, it will automatically be reserved for you.

If we do not purchase, we will let you know, and you may be able to interlibrary loan it from another library – please note there is a charge associated with this

Please note, our decision will be final, and no further correspondence can be entered into.
